GIS Expo (Paikkatietomarkkinat) is the largest Finnish event in the field of geographic information. The programme consists of lectures, technical exhibition and short information briefings by exhibitors.
GIS Expo 2015 is arranged in Helsinki at the Conference Centre of the fair centre Messukeskus Helsinki. The event gathers together data providers, software vendors and users of spatial data technology. It offers a good overview of state-of-the-art geographic information in Finland.
Each year, the number of participants has been about 2000. The participants come from various organisations from local and state government as well as the private sector. They represent a wide variety of GI users such as experts in mapping, public infrastructure, utilities management, forestry, environmental administration and planning, etc. GIS Expo has been organised by the National Land Survey of Finland since 1989.
On Wednesday 4 November 2015, ten applications or services that make use of geographic information will be presented on the GIS Expo Startup Square.
