My practical training period at the Lapland district survey
office has really taken off. The first couple of days I followed the surveyor
doing terrain work for parcellings.
The National Land Survey (NLS) has issued the Real estate
purchase price statistics for 2009. The statistics show that last year the
number of real estate purchases declined by 10 percent. The prices of detached
houses are on the rise, whereas the value of summer cottages remains
unchanged.
The aerial photography cooperation between the NLS and the
Agency of Rural Affairs provides considerable advantages. "Joint photography
flights allow us to save expenses and reduce emissions", explains director Juha
Vilhomaa.
The rates for calling the National Land Survey were reduced in
the beginning of the year, when the company telephone numbers starting with 020
541 were changed to numbers starting with 020 631. The new telephone exchange
number is: 020 631 121.
