The National Land Survey publishes printed maps of entire Finland in the scales 1:25 000 (basic map) and 1:50 000 (topographic map).
The basic map 1:25 000 shows the property division, roads, houses, waters, fields, patterns of the terrain and elevations as well as conservation areas and nature reserves.
The topographic map 1:50 000 gives a more general picture of the ground features than the basic map. The basic atlas covers the whole country.
What do you see on the basic map?
The basic map shows the property division, roads, houses, waterways, cultivated areas, topographic features and elevation as well as conservation and protected areas. The basic atlas covers the whole of Finland.
On Basic map 1:25 000, one map sheet covers an area of 12 x 24 km. One centimetre on the map corresponds to 250 metres in the terrain. Maps have been produced at this scale since 2006.
On Basic map 1:20 000, one map sheet covers an area of 10 x 10 km. One centimetre on the map corresponds to 200 metres in the terrain. For some regions, the latest map is at this scale.

What do you see on the topographic map?
Topographic map 1:50 000 shows the settlements, houses, roads, cultivated areas, waterways, logging areas, swamps and mires, rock exposures and elevation. The topographic map does not show cadastral boundaries or identifiers.
The topographic maps cover the whole of Finland. One map sheet covers an area of 24 km x 48 km. One centimetre on the map corresponds to 500 metres in the terrain.

- Maps of the entire country are available at the service point in Pasila. Other service points only have maps of their respective regions. You can order maps of the whole country at all service points.
