Real estate sales in 2011: The economic recession seems to be over

The National Land Survey (NLS) has issued the Real estate purchase price statistics for 2011. The statistics show that in the real estate business the economic recession seems to be over. The worst period of the recession occurred at the beginning of 2009. Since then the business has clearly picked up. In 2011, a total of 68 700 purchases of real estate were made, which equals the number of purchases made in 2010. The sum of money used on real estate amounted to 8.1 billion euros.

Increase in sales of single-family houses

In the real estate business the economic recession seems to be over. The worst period of the recession occurred at the beginning of 2009. Since then the business has clearly picked up. In 2010, a total of 68 900 purchases of real estate were made; an increase of 13 percent compared to the previous year. The sum of money used on real estate amounted to 7.8 billion euros.
