In February 2022, the BETA version of the new open data file download service will be published on the MapSite. During the BETA stage, the service will be tested and developed. At the first stage, laser scanning data 0.5 p, laser scanning data 2008–2019, elevation model 2 m, and the topographic database will be available in the service. Datasets will be added to the service gradually.
The current open data file download service will continue to operate normally until the new service has been transferred from the BETA stage to production and all open datasets are available in it. The aim is to start the production version during 2022.
The updating service helps to keep any changed files of downloaded datasets normally in operation. In the updating service, you can update the datasets you have downloaded from the open data file download service with the ATOM feed.
To test the BETA service, we will establish a small group of testers (roughly 12 people) who will be invited to Pasila in Helsinki to test the service in February/March 2022. Testing will be carried out remotely if the coronavirus situation requires it. Testing will take one hour. Register by 9 January 2022 through the link below! Those selected for the testing group will be contacted separately in January 2022, and all testers will receive two film tickets after the event.
