The coverage and profitability of the National Land Survey's network of service points will be investigated during the next six months. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has appointed Petri Korpinen, Deputy Director General of the National Land Survey, as administrator.
The investigation is necessitated by the tough economic situation, the digitalisation of services, the renewal of operating methods as well as the influence of the national operating model and the new service channels.
The situation of employees is one part of the investigation, and employees will be offered different ways of being heard. We are not going to reduce the number of employees, the investigation concerns the offices only.
"The investigation concerns all of the National Land Survey's service points, offices and other localities. It would be hard to justify why some would be left outside the investigation at this stage", says Petri Korpinen.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry decides upon the locations and number of the National Land Survey's offices and service points.
