Research Manager Yuwei Chen appointed as Guest Professor at Zhejiang University

Research Manager Yuwei Chen from the research unit of the National Land Survey of Finland was appointed as a Guest Professor at the College of Information Science and Electronics Engineering, Zhejiang University.

Yuwei Chen has worked for sixteen years at the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI), which was merged to the National Land Survey in 2015. During this appointment, he will continue to work at FGI.

‘The major aim of this appointment is to promote the international cooperation of Zhejiang University, especially for the College of Information Science and Electronics Engineering in remote sensing and positioning research. Moreover, there are various joint application opportunities for FGI,’ says Yuwei Chen. 

Appointment started eighth of May 2021, and it is for three years. Zhejiang University is one of the top universities in China, especially for its research in engineering. In 2022 QS World University Rankings, it is at the 45th position. At the same time, the University of Helsinki is 104th, and Aalto University is at the 112th place.

‘I am very glad to get such a guest professorship from the university I graduated from 20 years ago,’ Yuwei Chen says.
