State boundaries of Finland

The State boundaries of Finland are based on several bilateral and international agreements. The boundaries that have been confirmed through agreements have been demarcated and marked in the terrain in boundary demarcations following the agreements.

Due to changes in the terrain, map and coordinate data that depict the State boundaries have to be renewed in demarcations from time to time. The valid demarcations have been carried out on the State boundary between Finland and Norway in 2025, on the State boundary between Finland and Sweden in 2006, and on the State boundary between Finland and Russia in 2017.

Documents and maps regarding boundary demarcations are available from the National Land Survey. Request data sets by contacting our customer service. Ordering data sets is subject to a charge.
