How to find out the property identifier

When you need information about a property, you should find out what the property identifier is before contacting the National Land Survey. The property identifier is a series of four numbers, such as 740-555-2-0. The property identifier is shown on extracts concerning the property in question, such as a real estate tax demand or certificate of title.

You can also use the map below to search for the property identifier.

  1. In the Search field, type the place name, address or property identifier.
  2. You can use the characters + and − to zoom in and out on the map.
  3. The identifiers become visible when you have zoomed in close enough. Loading property identifiers on the map can take a while.
  4. If you need to know the owner of a property, read the instructions on the "Who owns this property unit?" page.
