NLS invoices may also be sent to Messages

The National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) sends invoices automatically to the Messages service for customers who use the service but have not ordered a separate e-invoice or MobilePay invoice.

An email indicating that a new message has been received in the service will be sent for each invoice. If an invoice remains unpaid, the first payment reminder will also be sent to your inbox. It is recommended that you check that the email address you have entered in the Messages service is correct and valid.

When you start using the Messages service, you also consent to the Finnish authorities sending you online messages. If you use the service, you will no longer be sent paper invoices from the NLS.

Order e-invoices

If you do not want to receive NLS invoices in the Messages service, you can order e-invoices in your online banking service.

  • Make sure that you have made an e-invoice agreement with your bank first.
  • Your bank’s online service will have a list of invoicers who are able to send e-invoices.
  • Find the National Land Survey of Finland (Maanmittauslaitos) in the list and enter your personal identity code as identification information.

Other electronic invoicing methods are also available in addition to e-invoices. Read more about all invoicing options.

Start using Messages

Using Messages, you can receive messages from the authorities in electronic format. For example, you can receive land survey documents securely and quickly through Messages. You cannot send any messages to the NLS through Messages.
