European Spatial Data Infrastructure Network (ESDIN)

ESDIN (European Spatial Data Infrastructure Network) is a Best Practice Network EU-project. ESDIN is tightly connected to the INSPIRE-process that aims at building a European SDI to support the decision making in issues related to the protection of the environment. A network-accessible, INSPIRE-compliant Download Service providing access to several INSPIRE Annex I content themes has been developed by the project in 11 European countries. A special interest in the project is dedicated to services that aim at harmonising geodata resources across Europe by the means of real-time content transformations. Examples of this kind of transformations include schema transformations, coordinate transformations, generalisation and edge-matching. The project is coordinated by EuroGeographics.
