Processing of personal information at NLS

The National Land Survey processes personal data to perform official duties.

Take a look at the information concerning your property, unseparated parcel or leasehold

When you need information concerning your property, unseparated parcel or leasehold, you can use the National Land Survey's E-Service (the service is available in Finnish and Swedish). The E-Service contains basic property information and information about property ownership and mortgages. The E-service is available in Finnish and Swedish.

Request to check data in register

You have the right to check personal data concerning yourself in any personal data register. Fill in the form (available in Finnish and Swedish), if you want to check what of your personal data has been stored in the National Land Survey's registers. The request to check data in a register can also be free-form, if it contains the same information as the form.

Send the form or a free-form request by post or encrypted e-mail to the National Land Survey's Registry at the following address: P.O. Box 84, 00521 Helsinki, or kirjaamo@maanmittauslaitos.fi. Please note that ordinary, unencrypted e-mail is not secure. You can use the e-mail service Securedmail.eu to send encrypted e-mail.

In general, submitting a request to check data in the registers of the National Land Survey and processing such requests at the agency are free of charge.

If the requests of a registered person are clearly groundless or unreasonable, for example if such requests are submitted repeatedly, the National Land Survey can levy a reasonable charge to cover the administrative costs of carrying out the procedure.

A decision concerning the issue will be given within a month after the request has been received at the National Land Survey.
