SAIMA - Shared sensing, AI reasoning, and control of heterogeneous multi-robot systems in agricultural production
Advances in AI are transforming agricultural workflows, making autonomous robotic systems and AI-assisted farm management central to next-generation farming. The SAIMA project proposes an Agricultural Cognitive AI (AgriCAI) framework —an open, decentralized ecosystem where robotic systems, AI, and digital services integrate seamlessly to enable smarter, more efficient, and adaptable farming. The project focuses on developing autonomous farming methods, leveraging shared sensing data, and validating these technologies in real-world scenarios. It will deploy collaborative robotic systems, including tractors, ground robots, and drones, to perform precision agriculture tasks. Expected outcomes include AI-driven solutions for crop management and monitoring, frameworks for data sharing and task coordination across robotic units, and the establishment of the AgriCAI framework as a foundation for future innovations
