Renowned researcher Markku Poutanen, known for his contributions to the popularization of astronomy and his work on satellite positioning, is retiring from the FGI - Join us for his retirement lecture on 30 Nov
Professor Markku Poutanen's career spans five decades. Poutanen is now retiring from his work at the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute FGI of the National Land Survey. He will give a lecture where he describes coincidences that brought the astronomer to geodesy and what has happened at the FGI over the decades.

The National Land Survey participates in a digital security exercise on 30 November

Potential changes in cadastral survey charges at the beginning of next year
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is currently preparing a new decree on charges for cadastral surveys, which would enter into force at the beginning of 2024. The new decree on charges would supersede the previous decree which entered into force at the beginning of 2023 and was originally issued for two years.

Climate and geospatial data of European countries on a single platform for the first time
The goal of the Location Europe platform developed by the National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) is to especially facilitate solutions that support energy efficiency.
