Information contents and trends in land administration systems

Land information systems are reaching their technical life span in many countries. Organizations and actors involved in recording information about real property units and the related rights, restrictions and responsibilities are forced to re-evaluate the current and future information needs and to make choices about the development trajectories of land information systems. This project analyzes the information contents, functionalities, and future trajectories of mature land administration and information systems by means of comparative case study approach. The project creates basic understanding of the (dis)similarities of the systems globally and thereby helps to support decision-making of land information system development.
